Dear Mama,
Right now, you may be in a place of waiting and wondering, right here in the in-betweens. This in between area of where we started and where we are going is the place we so often feel discouraged, impatient, and maybe even a little lost. Our journey feels longer than expected, and maybe a little harder, too. Here, we look ahead only to realize we can't clearly see the path marked out in front of us - how we will even get there and what it will look like when we do. And it can feel overwhelming.
But can I encourage you? Though the valleys and the in-betweens can often seem like a place of regression and even hopelessness, they can also be a place of rest. It is my personal belief that these moments and seasons are a gift in disguise; they are an opportunity for self-reflection and growth, and can provide preparation for the next steps. Deviations from "the plan" can be devastating, but I also believe that none of our experiences have to be wasted. There is always something for us to learn, either about life or ourselves, even in (and sometimes especially) these hard places.
Your mountaintop, your destination, your victory is coming. In the mean time, I will meet you in your valley - to walk with you, listen to you, encourage you, and hold you up when you want to give up. You're almost there. One step at a time.
